Azau glade is not just a ski resort. This is an iconic place where people go not only to go for a drive, but also to put a tick on their personal "track record". And there are always a lot of people here; and all because this glade is the highest resort in the Elbrus region. And in general, its highest place, where people live. Both the terribe, terrible Cheget and the popular Terskol are located just a little lower. Above - only Elbrus. The Azau glade is the very place where the asphalt ends (in the literal sense of the world) and the mountains begin, and if you want to ride exactly on Elbrus, then it is most logical to stop here. Place of Lermontov's Duel in Pyatigorsk

The glade itself is not large, and there is an even smaller settlement on it. The village is even loudly said: in fact, only those who are employed in the service sector live here. And the village itself consists entirely and exclusively of catering points and places for accommodation.

The height of the Azau glade above sea level is 2300 m.

Azau is a dizzyingly picturesque place, both in winter and in summer. It is clear what you will see here in winter: a lot, of snow. And more tours on the slopes along the ski slopes. And in summer everything around becomes thick green, mountain grasses bloom and smell, strawberries break through, a mountain river rustless... True, all this starts quite late in Azau. The full "snow" season begins here with the arrival of November, and the snow does not melt until the beginning of May. Resort Park in Essentuki

Just getting close to Azau, you already see tourist centers and hotels. In the clearing itself, they lined up around the main (and only) Square. The round dance of hotels is diluted with cafes and barbecue.

You can ride Azau at any time of the year, so it is never too quiet here. Mainly mountain skiers come here, as well as mountaineers, rock climbers, photography and hiking enthusiasts.
