If Bauman Street is Kazan Arbat, then Kremlevskaya Street is Kazan Nevsky Prospect, judging by the aristocracy of the buildings located here, one of which is an architectural masterpiece of the 19th century - Aleksandrovsky Passage.

Built in 1883 as a tenement house by the merchant A.S.Aleksandrov, the passage amazed the imagination with the luxury of its Art Nouveau and Baroque interiors. Read this article of Marjani Mosque of Kazan City Russia

An ultramodern word of technology for Kazan at that time was the presence of elevators, air heating and electric lighting.

However, having spent 800 thousand rubles on the construction of the Alexandrovsky Passage, a huge fortune for the end of the 19th century, Alexandrov did not manage to make it profitable. Having changed several owners, Alexandrovsky Passage was donated to the city. It was planned to make a museum in it, but the uniqueness of the layout of the passage was not suitable for museum needs. Before the revolution, the popular restaurant "Palais de Cristal" and the electric theater "Passage" by GM Rosenberg were located in the Alexandrovsky Passage.

The history of the Alexander Passage is sad. The building with such unique interiors did not receive proper maintenance and by the end of the 20th century it was completely dilapidated. Since 2003, restoration work has been carried out with the aim of returning the Aleksandrovsky Passage to its original historical and cultural appearance.

The address of the Aleksandrovsky Passage is st. Kremlin, 17.
